Nourished in the Word

Nourished in the Word

The Lord's Day is a delight. Today I had the opportunity to preach twice at Grace Bible Church in Canton in the morning and at Grace Community Church in Dawsonville, Georgia in the evening. One poet wrote concerning the Lord's Day: "O day of rest and gladness, O day of joy and light, O balm of care and sadness, Most beautiful, most bright."

Enjoy the gift of the Lord's Day as an opportunity for both physical rest and spiritual restoration. Embrace deeds of mercy and the worship of God with the people of God in congregational participation. The Lord's Day is a sweet gift fitted with opportunity to the wise Christian who will learn to delight in the amazing provision of our great and kind God.

Remember to pray for the Southern Baptist Convention this week. I am encouraged by the evidences of reform that I see but I realize, to lift some words from Robert Frost, that we have "miles to go before we sleep."
